Our Coffee Farm in the Heart of Bali

Nestled in the lush forests of Central Bali at 300 meters above sea level, our Luwak Coffee Farm thrives as a center for premium coffee cultivation. Covering 200 hectares, a cooperative of 180 dedicated farmers actively manage the farm, preserving traditional methods while adopting sustainable practices. Moreover, the surrounding rich biodiversity creates the ideal conditions for producing high-quality Luwak coffee.

Nature’s Selection: The Role of the Luwak

Workers carefully collect the excrements, ensuring only the best beans are selected. Next, they thoroughly wash the beans and remove the second skin. Afterward, they roast the beans at a medium temperature before grinding them into fine coffee powder.

Crafting Luwak Coffee: From Bean to Brew

The journey of Luwak coffee is a unique process that involves nature and human care:

Digestion: The Asian palm civet consumes the coffee berries, and the beans pass through its digestive system. During this process, the civet’s enzymes and gastric juices break down the beans, altering their amino acid composition and enhancing the coffee’s aroma and flavor profile.
Collection: Once defecated, the beans are carefully collected by farmers in the early morning.
Washing: The beans are thoroughly washed to remove impurities and prepare them for drying.
Drying: The washed beans are spread under the sun to dry naturally, preserving their unique qualities.
Roasting: The beans are lightly roasted to highlight their distinctive aroma and flavor, ensuring a balanced and premium coffee experience.
Grinding: After roasting, the beans are ground to the desired texture, making them ready for brewing.
Brewing: The ground coffee is typically brewed using a French press or other preferred methods to create a rich and aromatic cup of coffee.

This process reflects the harmonious collaboration between nature and human craftsmanship, producing a coffee experience like no other.
